KLM Marketing Solutions would like to ask the multisport community to give back to those in need. As we grow our events we want to make sure we're doing our part and help give back to the community that supports our events. We ask each of you to bring a canned good or non-perishable item to ANY 2009 packet pick-up or Triathlon. All of the product that is donated will be given to Harvesters, Kansas City's only food bank! This is something we can all do to make a big impact on our community!

Online Registration will be closing soon for the 29th Annual Topeka Tinman Triathlon & Duahtlon! If you want to save a few bucks and reserve a spot, be sure to pre-register at www.topekatinmantriathlon.com The Tinman is filling quickly so don't forget! Online registration will close Sunday, June 14th at Midnight CST. If you miss the opportunity to register online you can always register late at one of the three packet pick-up locations listed on the Tinman website. NOTE: NEW FOR 2009! We will no longer be conducting Awards Ceremonies at the end of each event. After many years of conducting awards ceremonies, history has repeated itself. Athletes are not staying for awards ceremonies and medals and plaques are not picked-up by the athletes. In addition, sponsors have stressed the importance of placing their products in the hands of the athletes. In 2008 we provided sponsor products for the Overall Winners (not age group winners) and we will do the same in 2009. Prizes include Maxxis Tires, Maxxis Apparel, Rudy Project Sunglasses, Rudy Project Helmets, Rudy Project Bags, Rudy Project Apparel, GU Sports and various sponsor gift certificates. Any athlete who places in their respective age groups will now have their names highlighted on the respective event website home page. We will also e-mail the winners names to the KLM database to publicly congratulate them on their hard work and effort. All Overall Awards will be provided to the athletes when the results become final. Each athletes overall prize WILL BE MAILED. Preliminary results will be posted after each race is completed. All results are final upon the completion of the event at that time all results are final as well and will not be changed. All athletes are eligible for Overall Awards and Individual Age Group Rankings. If any athlete places in the Top 5 Overall they are no longer eligible for their respective age group rankings. They will be taken out of their respective age groups at that time.

KLM is pleased to announce a new partnership with The Wheel Cyclery. The Wheel Cyclery will be providing Cycleops Trainers and warm-up area at all KLM Multisport Events! Each race will have trainers available for any athlete to warm-up before the big race. At each race athletes will have the opportunity to purchase these trainers at a discounted price to be determined at the time of the race. Weather Policy:
In the event of bad weather that may cause any KLM event to be delayed or canceled the following protocol will be followed.

  • A safety assessment of the current weather at race time will be determined by KLM Marketing Solutions and local law enforcement agencies.
  • If the KLM staff or local law enforcement agencies feel it is unsafe to compete, the race will be delayed 15 minutes.
  • After the 15 minutes has passed another assessment will be conducted at that time.
  • If the KLM staff and local law enforcement agencies feel it is safe the race will then be started.
  • In the event that the weather does not allow the event to start after the first 15 minute delay and second and final 15 minute delay will be put in place.
  • After the second 15 minute delay has passed and it is safe to compete the race will then be started.
  • In the event that the weather does not allow the event to start after the second 15 minute delay the race will then be canceled.
  • Upon the cancellation of the event it will not be rescheduled for that calendar year.
  • Under no circumstances will refunds be offered due to an event being canceled because of weather.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR ANY KLM MARKETING SOLUTIONS EVENTS (HEREAFTER "KLM"), REGARDLESS OF THE REASONS.
IF AN ATHLETE REGISTERS FOR ANY KLM EVENT AND CAN NOT ATTEND DUE TO ILLNESS, INJURIES OR PERSONAL REASONS YOUR
REGISTRATION FEE WILL NOT BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER KLM EVENT, NOR WILL A REFUND BE ALLOWED. PLEASE READ EACH
REGISTRATION STEP THOROUGHLY BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE NEXT STEP. THIS IS A STANDARD OPERATION PROCEDURE OF
ALL KLM EVENTS AND SPORTS BASE ONLINE.
